Seasoned milonga organizers and hosts -- welcome you to Milonga Poema --Jonathan and Olivia's newest San Francisco Bay Area Milonga taking place on the 1st Saturday of every month.

Where:  Lounge Ballroom (with Lake View) at the Lake Merritt Dance Center 200 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA 94610 

Doors Open: 6:30pm 

Time: Pre-milonga class 6:45pm - 7:30pm

Instructors: Olivia Levitt and Jonathan Yamauchi

Topic: Turns with changes in direction, tango milonguero style.

Milonga 7:30pm - 11:30pm

Parking: Come early for Free Parking

Rotating DJs include: Glen Corteza, Felipe Martinez, Ayano Yoneda, Jonathan Yamauchi, Madeline,  Marcelo Solis and guest DJs.

Desserts: Yes!...plus coffee and tea.

Admission: $20 Includes Class and Milonga

Milonga Poema is a friendly and welcoming milonga attended by all levels of experience, including wonderfully skilled Bay Area tango dancers and visiting dancers alike, including our queer and queer friendly tango friends and Bay Area instructors.

Free Parking: The secret for securing free and available parking is to arrive prior to 8pm. We recommend that one either attends our pre-milonga class or alternatively, arrive early, park, and then enjoy dinner at nearby Trueburger Restaurant at 146 Grand Avenue -- or any number of restaurants along 100 to 400 Grand Avenue. For those who like to arrive late, free parking spaces open up around 10pm when the Salsa dancers leave the building.

Pay parking: is also available at 80 Grand Ave Parking where a special deal between 4:00pm and 12:00am costs $10.

Covid Policy: In accordance with prevailing City of Oakland standards. Currently, The City of Oakland does not require proof of vaccination in public places.
