Coming soon in December 2012!!!

Online tango videos for beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels will be available in December 2012, downloadable a la carte or in discounted bundled lessons. We will also offer online tango videos for milonga and nuevo tango in the apilado embrace. Our lesson videos will reveal the detailed body mechanics and technique required to execute evey tango movement that we demonstrate. Each tango lesson will give the equivalent value of a private lesson at a fraction of the cost.

Note to tango salon dancers: Learn the body mechanics and technique to “dancing tango from the heart” in the apilado embrace, also known as “tango milonguero” coined by Susanna Miller. In the apilado embrace, leader and follower dance on their forward axis in a full frontal embrace connected at the heart. Every breath, every movement from the floor, large or small, is transmitted vertically through the body and received at the connection of the frontal torso. There is little use for the arms in the apilado embrace.

The apilado embrace is very different and contrasted from salon tango which is danced on the vertical axis and connected at the sides in a “V” or not at all. Some movements are for the salon embrace and some movements are for the apilado embrace. When two embrace on their forward shared axis in the apilado embrace, they can independently return to their vertical axis on their own. All levels of salon dancers (from our videos) can have the keys to experience the “crème” of the tango embraces in a truly intimate and sensual connection.

It is not uncommon for us to be approached by experienced tangueros and tangueras who have never experienced the pleasure of walking and dancing in the apilado embrace. Once they discover what they’ve been missing, they transcend their tango to highest levels of intimacy and sensuality, trading the need for 'lots of fancy steps' in favor of an unforgettable connection between two dance partners.
