WORKSHOP I – ALL LEVELS TECHNIQUE WORKSHOP
FOCUS: Learn a large ongoing vocabulary of movements and musicality embodying a full frontal milonguero style embrace with correct posture and body alignment, walking small to large steps on your forward axis with a full frontal sustained connection. Use of your adductors and inside edge (inner sole) to maintain a relationship with the floor, yourself and your partner. Leaders learn to lead with clarity and followers learn to feel the distinction behind subtle nuances in the lead.
WORKSHOP II: Teaches an ongoing vocabulary of turns with changes of direction allowing dancers to dance large or to dance small ON FOUR TILES. Workshop II incorporates ongoing development and utilization of the principle of internally generatd centipital force to incorporate subtle contra body movement in one's tango.
FOCUS: Workshop II includes precise instruction on how to seamlessly transition between salon and milonguero styles in a dance, creating a beautiful fusion between the two styles. Note: To dance on four tiles, you must know how to dance tango milonguero style in the apilado embrace. Learn the technique to minimizing movements into a small space. If you ever dance in the crowded milongas of Buenos Aries, the National Encuentros, The Belrose Milonga, or at other crowded Bay Area Milongas, you will need to know how to dance milonguero style.
It is highly recommended that you take Workshop I as a prerequisite to attending this workshop as the entire range of vocabulary taught in Workshop II builds on the walking technique learned in Workshop I.
